Gameloft opens new Paris studio

New developer working on unannounced action/sport title for PC and console

Gameloft has announced the opening of a new development studio in Paris.

It'll be the French firm's 18th studio, focusing on a new title already in development described as "an action and sport-oriented experience for multiplayer and cross-play."

This new game should release on PC and console, with Gameloft saying that it will leverage the company's expertise in free-to-play.

The new Gameloft Paris studio, which will be located near the firm's existing HQ, will be headed by studio manager Julien Billard, previously talent manager at Ubisoft and mobile company Oh Bibi.

The new office is hoping to grow to 30 staff by the end of the year.

CEO of Gameloft Stéphane Roussel commented: "Gameloft is an international and multicultural company -- but its roots are in France.

"We are thrilled to be able to contribute to the development of this flourishing industry in the French market and offer new opportunities to talented people through the opening of this new studio in the heart of Paris."
