Vin Diesel joins Studio Wildcard as executive producer on Ark
Actor will work as "president of creative convergence" on both Ark 2 and animated series
Actor Vin Diesel has joined Studio Wildcard as president of creative convergence, or executive producer, for both the upcoming Ark 2 game and Ark: The Animated Series.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Diesel was already a fan of the Ark games when he signed onto the project.
"I'm having a lot of fun playing Ark and also really excited to join the Studio Wildcard team to develop the story both in game and in the new animated series," Diesel said in a statement.
Diesel is also playing the voice role of Santiago, a freedom fighter who appears in both the animated series and the game.
This is not Diesel's first foray into video games or even game making. Aside from his various voice and appearance credits, he also founded his own video game company called Tigon Studios in 2002, which worked on games like Wheelman and multiple Chronicles of Riddick titles.
Tigon Studios had development work suspended in 2009, re-opened in 2013 for Riddick: The Merc Files, and more recently co-developed Fast & Furious Crossroads with Slightly Mad Studios.
