Titmouse launches games studio
Animation company behind Afro Samurai establishes Titmouse Games
Titmouse, the animation studio behind Afro Samurai and Metalocalypse for Adult Swim, has formed its own videogame development studio, Titmouse Games.
The group has hired Aaron Habibipour, who previously worked on the Guitar Hero franchise and for which Titmouse provided animation, as the creative director of the studio.
"Titmouse Animation is the worst kept secret in the industry, and we always felt that our super-geek cred and weirdo-but-accessible vibe would apply to the videogame world," explained Keith Fay, vice president and creative producer for Titmouse.
"Aaron is a big, twisted metal-head geek, and he has the experience and the chops to bring a certain juicy deviance to the Titmouse universe."
Titmouse Games' first project will be a steam-punk action RPG, Seven Haunted Seas, for consoles. The company explained it is currently in negotiations with potential publishing partners and exploring options for digital distribution.
