Server company Zeuz raises €3 million in funding
Munich-based b2b firm grew out of the consumer-facing GPortal
The online services company Zeuz has raised €3 million, in a funding round featuring contributions from Vito Ventures and Holtzbrinck Ventures.
Zeuz, which is based in Germany, grew out of the GPortal, a consumer-facing business that provided servers for online games. The new brand was started last year, and is focused on providing game companies with multiplayer servers.
The €3 million in funding will be used to expand the Munich-based company's product line and move onto new platforms.
"The IT infrastructure for multiplayer games and their global scaling are not one of the core skills of most game studios, and this prevents them from focusing on what really counts for them: developing fantastic content," said Zeuz managing director Markus Schneider in a statement. "We provide studios with a solution that enables them to save money and, above all, technical resources."
Zeuz counts Funcom, Snail Games and The Farm 51 among its clients.
