Suicide Squad delayed to 2023

Rocksteady's super villain team-up the latest major title from WB Games to slip

Update, March 23, 2022: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's delay is now official. Rocksteady creative director Sefton Hill confirmed spring 2023 as the new release window for its DC Comics adaptation.

Original story, February 2, 2022: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been delayed until 2023, according to a Bloomberg report.

A WB Games representative did not immediately return our request for comment. Likewise, Bloomberg said Warner did not immediately respond to its own request either.

The Rocksteady game based on the DC Comics super villain team was originally announced in August of 2020 with a 2022 release window.

WB Games has seen most of its major console and PC releases slide since the beginning of the pandemic. Back 4 Blood belatedly launched last October, while the rest of the publisher's original 2021 slate -- Hogwarts Legacy, Gotham Knights, and Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga -- has since been rescheduled for release later this year.

Not all of WB Games' publicly announced projects have been delayed; the crossover fighting game MultiVersus was announced in November and remains expected to launch sometime this year.
