Now the biggest social dev in China with over 50m MAUs

Chinese social gaming company Rekoo is now the country's market leader following its acquisition of developer HappySNS.

According to a report on Inside Social Games, Rekoo, which is based in Beijing, bought HappySNS for more than $20 million at the end of last year.

The deal gives Rekoo 50 million MAUs across China, Japan and the US. Rekoo's games can be found on a range of different social networks, including Tencent, Renren, Kaixin001, Xiaonei, Mobage, and Mixi.

However, while Rekoo was one of the first Chinese companies to launch games on Facebook, the world's most popular social network accounts for only 383,000 MAUs.

Liu Yong, the company's CEO, told Chinese media organisation Sina that Rekoo's primary focus will be the Japanese market, followed by the US, with China in third place. According to Yong, the average revenue per user in Japan is 10 to 20 times higher than in China.
