Microsoft will attend a closed hearing about its proposed acquisition of Activision with the EU's competition regulator in Brussels on Tuesday, February 21.

The news was first reported by Foss Patents and then confirmed to Reuters, with Microsoft requesting a hearing following the formal antitrust warning issued by the European Union earlier this month.

A similar warning was issued by the UK's Competitions and Markets Authority, which said in its initial finding that the proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard King by Microsoft could reduce competition.
