Knights and Bikes TV show in the works
Peaky Blinders production company Tiger Aspect options rights for animated series based on Foam Sword game
Knights and Bikes is next in line for a TV adaptation. Tiger Aspect Productions has optioned the rights for an animated series based on the game and its accompanying spin-off book series from their creators at Foam Sword and Knights Of, respectively.
Tiger Aspect is best known as the production company behind projects like Mr. Bean and Peaky Blinders. It is also a division of another production company, Endemol Shine, which has long held an interest in the games industry. A former owner of Bossa Studios, Endemol Shine has its own development and publishing arm, Good Catch, and optioned the rights for a Mirror's Edge TV show in 2016.
"The energy, humour, and joy that continually bursts out of TV animation was a large inspiration in creating Knights and Bikes," said Foam Sword's Rex Crowle, "not just in the way it looks but also in the themes and tone of the game. It's a fantastically fun new development for us to be working with Tiger Aspect on a Knights and Bikes animated series."
Knights and Bikes was Kickstarted in 2016 by MediaMolecule veterans Crowle and Moo Yu. The game tells a story of friendship between two young girls with very active imaginations, and released last month to solid reviews. Knights Of has published two Knights and Bikes spin-off books by Gabrielle Kent, with plans for more in the future.
