James Gunn says future DC titles will be a part of the DCU

The creative decision to align with the new co-chairman and co-CEO of DC Studios media vision

James Gunn has confirmed that DC games in the future will be part of the DC Universe.

As reported by Eurogamer, the news comes after he was named as co-chairman and co-CEO of DC Studios with Peter Safran.

In a Twitter exchange, Gunn officially confirmed that there are plans for games to be connected to the DC Universe.

Both he and Safran will oversee the creative direction of future DC media in a cohesive macrocosm.

The interconnectedness of future DC games is similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However Marvel isn't following suit for its own games.

In September during EA and Marvel's announcement of a new Iron Man game, Bill Rosemann, vice president and creative director of Marvel Games, said that connecting titles in the same universe would be detrimental.

"We don't want to say 'you can't blow up the moon, because this game over here by another studio needs the moon'," he explained.
