Jagex Games appoints new COO
Rob Smith promoted into newly created position following six year tenure with company
Jagex Games Studio has appointed Rob Smith into the newly created position of chief operating officer, where he is to oversee the operational aspects of development for the company's various games as well as work alongside the executive team developing future titles and help to grow player communities.
Smith's new role comes following six years with the UK developer and publisher, during which he has held a number of senior management roles, most recently as operations manager.
"Rob's appointment as chief operating officer is in recognition of his sustained positive contribution to the Jagex family over the last six years," said Mark Gerhard, Jagex CEO.
"I can't think of anything nicer than developer and promoting talent from within and I have every confidence that Rob will continue to excel in his new position."
Jagex, the company behind the popular free-to-play MMO RuneScape, employs over 400 staff across its two Cambridge studios.
