Habbo Hotel owners post record financials
Sulake's 2010 revenues up by over 20% year on year
Sulake, the Finnish company behind teen online title Habbo Hotel, has reported record yearly financial results for 2010, with a twenty per cent year on year revenue growth.
Sales for the financial year were €56.2 million (£49.4m), resulting in a net profit of €1.6 million (£1.4m). EBITDA for the company was 9.5 per cent of revenue at €5.4 million (£4.75m).
"2010 was a record year for Habbo Hotel in many ways. Not only did we celebrate our 10 year anniversary, but our user base, sales and profitability continued to increase," commented Sulake CEO Timo Soininen.
"The growth was a result of several successful new product features and improvements, like new virtual pets, marketplace tools for virtual item trading, an all new Habbo Club experience and the launch of user customized games.
"This year, our focus will be 100 percent on growing Habbo Hotel into an even bigger and more engaging social game and community for teens around the world. New social games and features inside Habbo Hotels and Habbo mobile apps, in particular, are a significant growth opportunity for us this year."
Habbo Hotel is played in 150 countries in 11 languages. An average of 11 million unique users login each month.
