GSN acquires Bash Gaming
Deal with Bingo Bash developer reported to be worth $160 million
GSN Games has agreed to buy Bash Gaming for a reported fee of $160 million.
Bash Gaming is the studio behind the popular mobile and social title Bingo Bash, which has 4.8 million users across Facebook, iOS, Android and Kindle. In 2012, Bash Gaming claimed it made $55 million in revenue.
GSN did not comment on the value of the deal, but Venturebeat reports that it is between $160 million and $170 million.
"We're excited to become part of GSN Games, one of the early pioneers in social casino that continues to lead the space today," said Bash Gaming CEO Sumit Gupta in a statement. "I'm very proud of what our team has accomplished, creating the world's #1 bingo game, and with this new strategic partnership, we are poised to deliver our games to millions of additional players."
GSN Games is a specialist in casino and skill games for mobile and social platforms. Jeff Karp, once an executive at Zynga and now GSN's executive vice-president, described the acquisition as mutually beneficial to both companies.
"With the Bash Gaming acquisition, we will expose our millions of social casino players to the Bingo Bash experience, while introducing existing Bingo Bash players to our highly engaging games," Karp said. "We will leverage the strength of our respective organizations, including talent, reach and technology, to build a gaming powerhouse."
