GAMES MARKET EUROPE HITS RIGHT NOTE WITH RETAIL AS INDUSTRY UNITES BEHIND UK TRADE EVENT
Friday 17th February 2006/... Games Market Europe 2006, the UK's trade show for everyone in the European games and interactive entertainment industry, launched this week with the promise of a focus on multiple and independent retailer needs; a commitment to delegate value through complementary events; growth in exhibition, networking and meeting space, and a price freeze on exhibition space.
Now in its second year, Games Market Europe takes place on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th September 2006 at London's Business Design Centre. The event was designed to get to the heart of the games industry and was applauded in its first year for delivering a controlled environment.
Research in early 2006 amongst leading multiple retailers has shown significant and strong demand for a UK based industry event, according to event organisers Barrington Harvey and Tandem Events.
"The format, price, space and ethos of Games Market Europe works. Retailers want to see new products, talk business and network, and as the third largest global sales territory, the UK deserves its own business and retail event," said Andy Lane and Simon Harvey on behalf of the organisers.
For 2006 Games Market Europe boasts a number of additional features, including conference facilities for product and retail presentations, a store of the year promotion, a networking reception for domestic and international buyers, meeting areas for retailers and a one day conference for City fund managers and venture capitalists.
In 2005 Games Market Europe attracted exhibitors which included Nintendo, Ubisoft, VU Games, Electronic Arts, Pinnacle, Nokia, Gem Distribution, Eidos, Codemasters, Buena Vista Games, NCsoft, Rising Star Games and the BBFC. It attracted nearly 2,000 industry professionals from over 20 countries.
Prices for Games Market Europe 2006 are fixed at 2005 prices. For business visitors, it's free. For exhibitors, there is a unified stand size policy and low point of entry costs. It affords everyone the chance to enjoy a quiet environment for business, extensive networking and the chance to meet new customers and contacts.
