Eurogamer Expo calls for Indie Games Arcade submissions
Indie support to also include RPS Game of the Show award
The Eurogamer Expo has opened the submission process for games to be included in this year's Indie Games Arcade.
Supported by digital distribution service Get Games and coordinator Pixel-Lab, the Indie Games Arcade will once again showcase the best in independently created games, with all those exhibited in the running for the Rock, Paper, Shotgun Indie Game of the Show award.
"It's good to be able to offer indies this chance to put their work out there, as well as spring these kind of projects on expo-goers", offered David Hayward, coordinator of the Indie Games Arcade.
"The people and companies that make the kind of games we show really aren't the type that can afford expo space that publishers and platform holders get, and likewise their work is substantially different in tone. In past years we've had genuine reactions of surprise, pleasure, and embarrassment from players and I'm really looking forward to this year".
Developers are asked to submit a short description of the game, screenshots, background on the designer or company and a rough release date, as well as any additional assets such as videos to David Hayward.
The deadline is August 13, 2010 and more details can be found here.
The Eurogamer Expo takes place at Earls Court in London, October 1-3, and as well as showcasing forthcoming games for home consoles and PC, will also feature developer sessions open to the public and the GamesIndustry.biz Career Fair.
Tickets for the event can be bought at the official site.
