Elon Musk adding Atari classics to Tesla software, wants original games for car display
Billionaire reveals Tempest, Missile Command and Pole Position coming in next four week - with the latter controlled by steering wheel
Tesla cars are the latest platform to receive ports of classic Atari titles - and that's just the beginning, according to billionaire Elon Musk.
Discussing the vehicles' upcoming V9.0 software update, the Tesla CEO and co-founder said various games will be included as easter eggs and are expected to play on the display tablets in the front of the car.
When discussing the announcement on Twitter, Musk confirmed that Tempest, Missile Command and Pole Position would be among the titles included in this initial update.
He also revealed that his team is working on enabling Pole Position to be controlled by the car's steering wheel - although presumably the vehicle needs to be parked in order to activate this function (or, indeed, play the games at all).
The billionaire later tweeted that he was interested in developing original games for the Tesla software:
The suggestion has already received a myriad of replies, including one for a Tesla version of Pokemon Go, to which Musk replied: "Something like that, but more of an adults in cars anime vibe."
Responding to another reply, Musk said he wants to make the car "as fun as possible."
