BottleRocket confirms Splatterhouse repossession

Developer at work on "new project soon to be announced" following Namco's reassigning of the title its internal studio

BottleRocket has confirmed that it will no longer be developing Namco Bandai's Splatterhouse, but that it is now working on another as-yet unannounced project.

Earlier this week, rumours surfaced that Namco has repossessed all development kits and assets to the game and that its internal studio, the Afro Samurai team, would complete the project.

Furthermore, it was rumoured that BottleRocket would have to close its doors once the title had been reassigned as it was assumed to be the developers only project - others having been cancelled with the demise of Brash Entertainment.

"BottleRocket wishes Namco the best in completing their project," the studio said, according to Gamasutra. "The BottleRocket development team is looking forward to turning their attention to a new project soon to be announced."
