Blazing Griffin moves into film production with new hires
Scottish developer to announce first post production and feature film projects soon
The Scottish developer Blazing Griffin is expanding beyond games, establishing dedicated divisions for both post production and film projects.
Blazing Griffin Films will be led by executive director Naysun Alae-Carew and producer Nicholas Crum, the former a BAFTA award winner for his work as a producer. It has als added Anne Mensah, the head of drama at Sky, to the board.
"We want to create worlds," said Alae-Carew in a statement, "Build stories that span games, films, TV, comics and more, and give our audiences a chance to experience something a little different in each one, but always with a great story at its heart."
Blazing Griffin's post production unit will be led by managing director David Frew and post production supervisor Charlotte Walsh, whose collective past experience spans TV shows like Outlander and Waterloo Road.
Blazing Griffin's first run of feature film projects for these new divisions will include partnerships with Vertigo Films, The Salt Company, XYZ Films and Forward Films.
As a game developer, Blazing Griffin is perhaps best known for its remaster of Outerlight's The Ship and the mobile game APB Retribution.
