BlackFoot Studios licenses Unreal Engine 3

Epic's game engine will be used to develop a cross-platform co-operative military action game, coming out 2009.

BlackFoot Studios has announced that it has entered into an agreement with Epic Games to license Unreal Engine 3 for its upcoming military tactical action game for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Sky Gods, set to come out during the first quarter of 2009, will focus on a co-operative gameplay experience and be released worldwide through digital distribution.

"Epic supports the smaller studios, and they work hard to make the right things happen for all involved," said John Sonedecker, founder of BlackFoot Studios. "Epic is a great company to deal with, and we are proud to partner with them."

Mark Rein, vice president of Epic Games, added: "BlackFoot Studios has a rich history of working with Unreal Engine 3, and we are proud to support their efforts with technology and tools that help them ramp up quickly and minimize risk."

"It can be especially tough for smaller teams to tackle cross-platform challenges, so we feel great about getting behind these guys."
