UK developer sets up fourth dedicated branch in Madrid as headcount reaches 200
Mediatonic has opened the doors on a brand new studio in Spain to house its ever-growing team.
The Madrid branch of Mediatonic actually first began operating in 2017 as a five-person team in a co-working space, but has expanded over the past two years to the point where the developer has secured dedicated premises for them.
The team is currently formed of 20 people, with plans to grow to 70 by 2021. The studio opening follows a successful round of funding earlier this year.
Mediatonic now has four locations, including Brighton, Guildford and its lead studio in London. The company's overall headcount recently grew to 200.
The developer is currently work on a mix of titles, and has previously spoken to GamesIndustry.biz about two key projects: Gears Pop, the mobile spin-off of Gears of War, and Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, a non-violent battle royale.
