APB Reloaded open beta attracts 100,000 sign ups
GamersFirst expects around half to actually join next stage
Over 100,000 gamers have signed up to the open beta for the APB reboot, APB Reloaded, GamersFirst has revealed.
The company expects around half of those potential players to take the next step of installing and playing the game.
The company purchased the MMO and its assets from the administrators of Dundee developer RealTime Worlds following that company's collapse in August, 2010. The slide into administration was largely blamed on the poor performance of APB, which failed to wow critics and attracted too few subscribers to become profitable.
GamersFirst is operating the game on a freemium model, with the game's extensive customisation options somewhat restricted for non-premium members.
The beta program is scheduled to begin on February 28. Beta registrations close at midnight, Pacific Standard Time, tonight.
