2010 Global Game Jam announced
Organisers hoping to triple participation to 3000 people for January event
Following the success of this year's Global Game Jam, the 48-day event which saw around 1650 people meet in 54 venues across the world to produce 370 videogames, the organisers have detailed plans for another event next year.
Set to take place on January 29-31, it's hoped that next year's event can triple in size to take in 150 locations worldwide, while attracting 3000 participants.
"We're looking to make the 2010 Global Game Jam even more global, with more games, more people, more interaction, more fun, innovation and creativity," said Susan Gold, founder of the Global Game Jam. "Now is when we're starting the search for new venues, leaders and sponsors to grow the event and draw attention to the amazing diversity and talent in game development around the world."
While all participants must adhere to certain restrictions, there are also different restraints placed on Jams taking place in different countries to add cultural diversity.
