The 2022 GamesIndustry.biz UK Best Places To Work Awards winners have been revealed
Updated: 20 companies earned badges this year, while Dlala's Aj Grand-Scrutton was named Best Boss
The sixth GamesIndustry.biz Best Places To Work Awards for the UK have been decided, and the winners received their prizes during a Brighton ceremony today.
The awards aim to make the video games industry a better place to work by celebrating the companies that best support their staff and address the issues that continue to be raised by games professionals around the world.
Winners are decided primarily by an employee survey, as well as information provided by the company itself. For more information on how the awards are judged, read our full guide here.
Over 90 companies signed up to take part this year, and more than 93% of their staff would recommend their company as a place to work.
Those that scored above a certain threshold earned a Best Places To Work Awards badge. This year there were 17 winners across the three categories: small companies (between 10 and 50 employees), mid-sized (between 50 and 200), and large (over 200 staff).

Once again, these were decided primarily by an employee survey, which gave staff at each company over 50 statements to agree or disagree with. These encompassed topics such as working environment, work/life balance, management, diversity and more, and accounted for 80% of each firm's score.
The other 20% was given for responses to an employer form, in which companies answered questions around pay, holiday, benefits, social activity and more.
Every participating firm also entered into our special awards categories, which celebrate companies who have done excellent work in specific areas, from combating climate change and working with charities to helping improve diversity (by supporting initiatives that enable more people to enter the industry, not just by being diverse themselves) and supporting the health and wellbeing of their staff.
