Zavvi to see 17 more stores close
242 staff members made redundant, while Zavvi continues to trade in 31 stores
Ernst & Young, the administrator of struggling retailer Zavvi, has announced the close of another 17 branches of the store.
The closures will lead to 242 redundancies. However, the group says it will continue to operate in the remaining stores throughout the UK and is still seeking a buyer for the company.
"We will continue to trade in the remaining 31 UK stores and remain hopeful that a sale of some or all of these stores can be achieved," said Tom Jack, joint administrator.
"We are in detailed discussions with two interested parties and it is our intention to continue to trade all remaining UK stores with a view to their sale as a going concern."
"We are extremely grateful to the staff and management at all stores and the head office for their fantastic support throughout this difficult time," he added.
