Zango and Magic Lantern Grant Gamers' Wishes With Launch of 3D Games
Partnership Expands Online Collection With Five Skill and Strategy Titles
BELLEVUE, Wash.,--May 16--ZangoTM, the provider of exclusive free premium content online, today announced the release of five new downloadable Zango Games in partnership with game development studio, Magic Lantern, Inc. The games, including 3D Chess, Checkers Ultimate, 3D Air Hockey, 3D Foosball, and 3D Shuffleboard will be available for full version play to anyone using the Zango Search Assistant. The partnership with Magic Lantern complements Zango's growing selection of free titles and its recent launch of the Game Playmakaz contest for independent game developers.
The titles will launch for free download by June 30, expanding Zango's collection of downloadable and online games to nearly 50 titles. Since its launch in fall 2004, www.zangogames.com has risen to become the 15th most trafficked gaming Web site, providing free, full version action-adventure, puzzle, strategy and arcade games. Zango's focus on games is designed to reach the expanding casual game market, the majority of which is represented by adults ages 18 through 45 years. Zango's primary partners in the online games space include Newgrounds.com, 3Djoe.com and Freearcadevillage.com, which draw a large demographic segment of women ranging from 35 to 40 years.
In addition to giving gamers a challenging, compelling selection of online and downloadable games, Zango provides consumers with free access to its complete suite of downloads including Zango Messenger, Zango Weather and Zango TV Times. Zango users also enjoy a network of more than 50 Zango-sponsored Web sites, including Rubberfaces.com, AdventureTV.com and Bulbo.com all for free.
Magic Lantern builds games based on the premise of using cutting edge 3D graphics, unique sound and interactive music to design engrossing game environments that educate and entertain.
"Magic Lantern Games has a reputation for developing and releasing casual PC games that are easy to learn but nearly impossible to master," said Daniel Todd, president of Zango. "By forging partnerships with the most innovative game developers in the industry, Zango is able to provide consumers with ever-changing, fresh, and original titles and content. Our partnership with Magic Lantern propels the Zango Games collection toward high growth, allowing Zango to offer new, and never-before played titles."
"I can't think of anything better than playing unlimited, full versions of cool games for free, and I'm sure most gamers would agree," said Paul Schuytema, designer and producer at Magic Lantern Games. "Many casual and core gamers are looking for entertainment they can get at little to no cost, and Zango is delivering. We look forward to an ongoing partnership with Zango as they continue to revolutionize the way consumers gain access to top-tier games."
