BASINGSTOKE, England (December 8th 2004) - X² developer, EGOSOFT celebrate today their 100,000th registered user to the official X² website. As part of the community celebrations, the site has undergone a complete re-design, offering exclusive content and the latest fantastic screens of their up coming title; X²- THE RETURN. Over the past year, the site has grown from strength to strength, with over 2 million visitors and almost 250,000 page views per day. This solid community has been the back bone to the evolution of the X² series of games, providing valued creative input to the team, shaping the future of the series. The community / developer interaction went so far as to allow two lucky fans the chance to design their own unique sector of space, to be included in the final release version of X²- THE THREAT.

'BEST PC GAME OF 2004' nominee, X²- THE THREAT beat off fierce competition at the recent GOLDEN JOYSTICK AWARDS 2004, held in London on 5th November 2004. Voted by readers of PC ZONE and COMPUTER & VIDEO GAMES ONLINE, X²- THE THREAT came second in the voting, beat only by the readers choice of 'GAME OF THE YEAR'.
X²- THE THREAT swept the board at the recent German Game Awards Ceremony "Der Deutsche Entwicklerpreis 2004", claiming three top spots - 1st BEST STORY/GAME WORLD, 2nd BEST FULL PRICE GAME and 3rd for BEST COMMUNITY SUPPORT.
