Xfire Announces "Xfire Debate Club"
Leaders from WowInsider, World of Raids, TavernCast and Curse Gaming To Discuss World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade
MENLO PARK, CA (January 24, 2007) - Xfire, a division of Viacom Inc.'s (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B) MTV Networks, today announced the "Xfire Debate Club," a monthly, interactive online chat that brings together experts to debate gaming topics of interest to Xfire's six million strong online gaming community. The first hour-long session of the "Xfire Debate Club: The Two-Handed Sword" will cover World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade on January 31 at 7:00 PM EST/4:00 PM PST.
Bringing together industry insiders, celebrities and hardcore gamers in a live, moderated chat, the "Xfire Debate Club" is a forum for intelligent discussion on today's most pressing gaming questions. Xfire members are invited to be a part of the experience where they can debate with others in the community and pose questions to the expert guest debaters.
"These experts are leaders in the game industry who bring hands-on gameplay experience plus extensive knowledge gained from heading their own game communities," said Mike Cassidy, CEO of Xfire. "We also anticipate this will be a very entertaining group for the debate."
With its recent release and record setting sales, the expansion to Blizzard's hugely popular massively multiplayer online game, World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, will suitably be the topic of the inaugural session - "Xfire Debate Club: The Two-Handed sword". A broad range of topics will be discussed, dissected and debated including: "Which faction is stronger - Horde or Alliance?"; "What do players need to know about creating a new character?"; "What's the best and fastest way to reach level 70?" and "What offers more benefits: Instances or Battlegrounds?" The answers to these and many more questions will be debated by Mike Schramm from WowInsider.com, Teza from World of Raids, "Infernal" Bill from TavernCast, Christopher Carter from Curse Gaming and the Xfire community. Gary Whitta from PC Gamer will moderate the debate.
