Xbox One wins an Emmy

Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards honors console in Television Enhancement Devices category

Joining the ranks of Breaking Bad, Benedict Cumberbatch and Kathy Bates the Xbox One has gone and won itself an Emmy. Yes, an Emmy.

Microsoft picked up the honour at the the 66th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards, hosted by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

"This year's ceremony featured some especially great news for Xbox One: Microsoft will receive an Emmy Award for Television Enhancement Devices, thanks to the Xbox One's industry-leading television-on-demand and media center capabilities," the company bragged on Xbox Wire.

The awards are designed to highlight "development and innovation in broadcast technology and recognize companies, organizations and individuals for breakthroughs in technology that have a significant effect on television engineering."

Previous winners include Apple, Roku, Sony, and TiVo.
