Xbox One sank to 300 sales in Japan last week

Microsoft's console was at the bottom of the hardware chart for the second week

The Xbox One had its worst week in Japan since it launched there last September, selling just 300 units.

Microsoft's latest console was met with a cool reception even on its launch weekend, but it has been the lowest selling device on Media Create's hardware chart for a fortnight, behind even Sony's PlayStation Vita TV.

To Microsoft's credit, it acknowledged the problem early on, expressing its disappointment at the Xbox One's first month on the market in October last year. However, with weekly sales now below 500 units, it's difficult to see how the console will reach a sustainable position.

It should be noted, however, that this is a quiet period for Japan in general, with relatively little movement in both the software and hardware charts since the Christmas period.

The highest new entry on the software chart last week was Spike Chunsoft's Kenka Bancho 6: Soul & Blood, which placed third with just under 25,000 sales.
