Xbox One arrives on Japanese charts

New hardware only just beats 3DS XL to top spot

Xbox One was released in Japan this week and managed to head straight to the top of the hardware chart - but only just. In software Yokai Watch 2 moved back to the top of the charts after a brief break from the limelight last week.

The new console beat the 3DS XL to the top spot by just 2,050 units. By contrast Sony sold more than 320,000 units of the PlayStation 4 in its first two days on sale in Japan.

In software the Xbox One release failed to make much of a stir, only three titles made it into the top twenty with the highest - Titanfall - arriving at seven.
