X2 Football 2009
iPhone footie game gets 2.0 update, adding Wi-Fi multiplayer and Japanese language support.
X2 Games, the wholly owned subsidiary of award-winning UK developer Exient Ltd, has today announced plans to launch the latest update for X2 Football 2009, its critically-acclaimed debut title for the iPhone and iPod Touch. As part of an ongoing policy to continually evolve X2 Football by drawing on firmware updates and community feedback, the 2.0 update includes local multiplayer functionality and the addition of Japanese language support, as well as some minor gameplay tweaks.
X2 Football 2009’s local multiplayer supports Wi-Fi connections, allowing all generations of iPhone and iPod Touch to participate, although connections must be made through a single access point. Gameplay options include, one-on-one versus games and two-player co-op play, further cementing X2 Football as the definitive football title on the iPhone and iPod Touch.
“Adding features retrospectively is one of the advantages of working with the Apple platforms and has been part of the development plan from the beginning.” commented Des Gayle, Producer for X2 Games. “We know our community of loyal fans have been crying out for multiplayer but we wanted to ensure that it was a high-quality experience. This takes a considerable time to test, hence the delay. This latest update underlines our commitment to the continued progression of the X2 Football franchise.”
