World Cyber Games USA Online Registration Opens, Free Registration for the First Two Weeks
The World Cyber Games USA program officially starts today -
Friday, April 28 - and the road to the Grand Final in Monza
Italy begins. Open to all gamers - whether amateur or
professional - online preliminary registration for the WCG
USA is available on this site: http://us.worldcybergames.com
As an added bonus, registration is free to all players who
sign-up before midnight (U.S. Pacific Time) on Friday, May
12. After this period there will be a nominal $5 registration
fee.
This year's official worldwide WCG program includes the
following official PC titles: Counter-Strike 1.6, Warcraft
III: Frozen Throne, FIFA 06, Starcraft: Brood War, Need For
Speed: Most Wanted and Warhammer 40,000: Winter Assault.
Official Xbox 360 titles being contested around the world
are: Dead or Alive 4 and Project Gotham Racing 3.
The 2006 WCG USA program will add additional competitions at
its live events only, in some of the most popular console
game titles in the U.S. These include: Major League Baseball
2K6, Halo 2, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved and others for the
Xbox 360.
Winners from the WCG USA online preliminaries will qualify to
compete in the live regional events that will take place
across the country in June, July and August. All finalists
will be flown to the WCG USA National Final to be held in
September (location and dates TBA). The winners of the WCG
USA National Final represent the country's best gamers and
will form Team USA and be flown to the Grand Finals in Monza,
Italy (October 18 - 22) to defend its title as overall WCG
Grand Champion against 700 gamers from 70 countries around
the world.
