Wii helps sales double for Nintendo Australia

Profits have risen to AUD 6.4 million (EUR 3.9m) for the year ended March 31, with the company shifting 80,000 Wii units in the region, almost half of which were sold in the first four days of launch, reports News.com.au

Sales and profits costs were accompanied by a rise in the cost of doing business in the region, with Nintendo accumulating sales costs of AUD 107.8 million (EUR 65.5m), compared to AUD 56.5 million (EUR 34.4m) in 2006.

Marketing costs were up over 68 per cent 10 AUD 10.6 million (EUR 6.4m), with selling costs at AUD 9.2 million (EUR 5.6m), a climb of 169 per cent.
