WePlay Ventures invests $170k in Turkish studio Apphic Games
Mobile-centric company aims to accelerate PC development ahead of debut Steam release
Istanbul-based studio Apphic Games has received a 1.4 million TL (approximately $170k) investment from WePlay Ventures to fuel further development across PC and mobile.
Apphic is best known for several entries into the casual mobile market, including Nusrat, and Fetih, which have amassed over 4.5 and 1.5 million lifetime downloads respectively. The team has also made over 50 hypercasual games.
Apphic's first PC project, Deadly Broadcast, is slated to release on Steam in February 2022.
"As Apphic Games, we continue to produce quality games in the field of hypercasual and our search for hits, with our team reaching 13 people while completing our first year, and we are getting closer to our goals step by step," the Apphic team said in a statement.
"We are very happy to have the support of WePlay Ventures in this success-oriented journey."
WePlay Managing Partner Bora Koçyiğit added: "As WePlay, we continue to invest in studios whose potential and team we believe in. Apphic Games is one of our studios that makes us feel this belief with its experienced team and work. In the next period, we will be by the side of the Apphic Games team on the road to success and do our best in every matter we can help."
Earlier this month, WePlay invested $3m in another Turkish studio, Hero Concept. The studio released its third title, Mayhem Brawler, last week.
