Welcome to MobileIndustry.biz!

An introduction to the site

The growth of the mobile games industry over the past few years has been without a doubt one of the most fascinating developments in the interactive entertainment market as a whole. From a small hopeful industry seeking funding for big ideas that nobody was quite sure whether to believe in or not, to a sector that's seeing real revenue, real returns and incredible growth, it's been a roller-coaster ride - fascinating, complex and confusing in equal parts.

We've traced the development of the industry on the pages of GamesIndustry.biz ever since we launched that publication just over three years ago - but in recent months, it's become increasingly apparent that the sector we simply call "Mobile" deserves far more attention than we could hope to give in a publication tasked with covering the whole videogames market.

Which is why we're launching MobileIndustry.biz. As of today, this site will be our portal to everything related to the business of games on mobile phones and related devices. Through in-depth news coverage, columns from industry insiders and interviews with key figures, as well as a wealth of company and market data, we hope to be able to unravel the strands of this fast-moving market - showing you where the technology, the trends and perhaps most importantly, the money are going.

Each week the site will feature both columns and interviews, giving you a feel of what the key players are thinking; if you'd like to make a suggestion regarding such a contribution, our editorial team are always keen to hear from industry professionals with something to say to their peers. We're also seeking industry insiders who would be prepared to share their opinions in brief on key issues facing the industry as part of a panel of experts. If you'd like to be involved in either of these aspects of the site, get in touch at contact@mobileindustry.biz.

Another important aspect of the site is our recruitment section, where you'll find the latest jobs from across the mobile games industry being advertised. For candidates, this offers a unique chance to discover the jobs that are most relevant to your experience in the mobile market; for recruiters, it's a golden opportunity to find people with real experience and a real passion for the business you're in.

We hope you find MobileIndustry.biz to be an interesting and useful resource, and a worthy companion site to GamesIndustry.biz - the world's most popular source of business news and information for the interactive entertainment market as a whole. Mobile gaming faces many challenges in the coming months and years, but the market is huge, growing, and here to stay. We look forward to helping you to lift the lid on this incredible business every weekday for many years to come.
