For Immediate Release

Hampstead, NC, 23 February 2006

Digital Eel's Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space, published by Shrapnel Games, has been blazing a trail of excellence amongst critics and fans around the world, including being nominated in not one, but two, award categories of the prestigious Independent Games Festival (IGF), now in its eighth year. The IGF bestows accolades upon the best of independent gaming, and this year's competition sees Weird Worlds being nominated in both the Seumas McNally Grand Prize category and the Innovation in Audio bracket. The possibility of Weird Worlds domination doesn't have to stop there though.

GameSpot (www.gamespot.com) has been chosen to host the IGF 2006 Audience Award, which means that Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space is now nominated in three IGF categories! Best of all, as an Audience Award you-yes YOU dear press release reader-will determine the outcome! Vote early, vote now, and tell your accomplices.. err, friends to vote. There is a small matter of having to register on GameSpot to access the voting, but if taking thirty seconds to register helps Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space assume its rightful place at the top of the Audience Award category, isn't that time well spent? We think so too.

For those of you who haven't yet experienced this magnificent thirty-minute space opera, and are easily influenced by your peers, here's a sampling of what folks are saying about Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space.

"As the coolest trip across the galaxy in the history of games Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space is a sure-fire hit that should be in every gamer's library. It was a run-away winner of our Adventure/Quest game of the year for 2005."-- GameTunnel

"The real seller for Weird Worlds Return to Infinite Space is the addictive, gambling nature of picking up items and the unfolding of stories as you adventure through the galaxy."-- Diamond Miner Mark, The Diamond Games.com

"Oh - a final testimonial to Weird Worlds strengths: as of 1am on December 22nd, I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet. When my aggrieved girlfriend, family and friends come at me with the communal axe, I'm blaming this."--Kieron Gillen, Eurogamer

"Heck, you just need to buy this game. It very well may be the best $25 you spend on games this year."-- Edward Pollard, eToychest
