'We are outselling bigger publishers,' says Player X boss
Pearce claims publisher is now in the top ten
Player X CEO Tony Pearce has told MobileIndustry.biz that his company is now one of the UK's top mobile gaming publishers - and is outselling its rivals.
Speaking in an exclusive interview to be published next week, Pearce said, "We are now a top ten publisher - Family Fortunes, which is one of our titles, has been the number one game on Vodafone, for example, and both that title and other games such as Blockbusters have been in the ELSPA Top Ten.
"You could say that we've got games out there which are outselling some of the bigger publishers, and we've got to this point in a short space of time and on relatively short funding."
According to Pearce, "A lot of the big super-publishers have really big investment behind them - GBP 30 million plus - and our funding was absolutely nothing compared to that. And yet, we're up there with those big guns - and not just in the UK.
"You know, when you look at Jamdat, iFone, I-Play, Glu... Then there's Player X. You're really talking about companies which are very very established, and yet, we're here nibbling away at them."
