Warner Bros. confirms job losses from Seattle studios
Estimated 60 jobs lost from publisher's interests in city
Warner Bros. has confirmed the loss of a number of jobs from its studios in the Seattle area, with 3D Realms boss George Broussard estimating the number of people cut loose at around 60.
Broussard tweeted the estimate earlier, with Warner Bros. since confirming an undisclosed number of redundancies in a statement to GameSpot.
"As part of the continual review of our business operations and fluctuating market conditions, we have had to make reductions in our WB Games Seattle workforce," read the publisher's statement.
Warner's Seattle operations include Monolith Productions, currently working on Gotham City Imposters, and Snowblind Studios, which has just wrapped up LOTR: War in the North.
The losses sit in stark contrast to the recent critical and commercial success of Batman: Arkham City, which shipped 4.6 million copies in its first week at retail.
