WarioWare: Do It Yourself
Play it yourself this Friday.
28th April 2010 – If you’ve ever wanted to be a game designer, see your friends and family playing games that you created, your chance comes this week as WarioWare: Do It Yourself, launches for Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi, featuring more than 90 microgames to play and, best of all, the ability to create and share your own!
Each microgame lasts no more than ten tantalising seconds – see how many you can clear in succession. Or let your imagination run wild and design your own microgame from scratch. You are in control of graphics, animation, music and rules, meaning there’s no limit to the number and variety of your creations.
Tutorials clearly explain how to turn an original idea into a fun, fully working microgame. With practice, you’ll be able to create more complex and challenging games to test your friends!
Nintendo is holding regular contests each month for users to create and upload their own microgame relating to a certain theme. These entries will be judged by Nintendo and the winning games will be available for download the following month.
WarioWare: Do It Yourself also lets you draw four-panel black and white comics, and to create your own music, either by using the 90 sample songs as a guide or by drawing on your own creativity. All content can be shared with your friends using local wireless communications or Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
Put yourself in the game designing hot seat this week when WarioWare: Do It Yourself launches across Europe for Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi on 30th April 2010.
Also launching this week is WarioWare: Do it Yourself - Showcase for WiiWare, the perfect added extra to WarioWare: Do It Yourself available on Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi. This game allows you to transfer microgames, music and comics from the Nintendo DS version to enjoy on your Wii console, using the Wii Remote instead of the Nintendo DS stylus.
Show off your WarioWare creations on the big screen with WarioWare: Do It Yourself – Showcase when it also launches for WiiWare at the cost of 800 Nintendo Points on 30th April.
