Vivendi Universal Games announced today that it has signed a global distribution agreement with HD Interactive to distribute Nexus - The Jupiter Incident, which will be launched next month.

The title is a tactical space game, and was formerly known as Imperium Galactica III and then as Galaxy Andromeda, and finally settled on the Nexus name after cash-strapped CDV dropped the title last year.

VU Games will be distributing Nexus - which has been developed by Mithis Entertainment - across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific with the exception of France, Spain, Italy, Benelux and Russia. HD Interactive will handle publishing duties.

As a young pilot stuck in the middle of an interstellar conflict, players are challenged to tackle various missions, repairing, upgrading and enhancing their ships in-between. However, the title eschews the traditional resource gathering mechanism of games such Homeworld in favour of a focus on pure tactics.

A final date for the game has yet to be announced, but we expect to see it on shelves in the UK in early October.
