Vivendi picks up Spike TV award
Maglione pledges to expand SWAT franchise
Vivendi Games Mobile president Paul Maglione has confirmed that the company is intending to release more games in the SWAT series after SWAT Force picked up a trophy at the Spike TV Video Game Awards.
Other nominees for the title of Best Wireless Game included Super K.O. Boxing, Tower Bloxx and Diner Dash, but Vivendi's offering came out on top.
"I can't think of a better way for Vivendi Games Mobile to celebrate its successful entry into the business. The quality of our games is being recognised across our entire slate of titles, but to receive this special acknowledgement for SWAT is indeed an honor," Maglione said.
"We look forward to building the SWAT franchise and evolving the title to deliver an even better game for mobile devices worldwide."
The game is based on the SWAT series of PC games, which have so far sold more than 2 million units. SWAT Force sees players taking on the role of a special weapons and tactics operative dealing with seven different crisis situations.
