Vivendi announced today that Regis Turrini has been appointed senior executive vice president for strategy and development.

Turrini, an attorney admitted to the Paris bar, joined Vivendi in January 2003 as executive vice president in charge of mergers and acquisitions. He is a graduate of the faculties of literature and law and the Paris Institute of Political Sciences, and an alumnus of the Ecole Nationale d'Administration (postgraduate public policy college).

He began his career as a judge in the French administration courts before joining the law firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, followed by Jeantet & Associes. In 1995, he joined the investment bank Arjil & Associes (Lagardere group) as executive director and was later appointed managing director and managing partner.

Turrini will succeed Robert de Metz, who is leaving the company but will remain a director of Canal+ France.

The supervisory and management boards of Vivendi expressed their gratitude to de Metz for his contribution to the company's success, noting that he played a key role in the major transactions that have marked the turnaround and development of Vivendi over the past five years.
