Videogame music concert planned for Hollywood Bowl

Music from top videogames including Halo, Metal Gear Solid, Warcraft, Tomb Raider and Sonic the Hedgehog is to be performed in a live concert in Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl venue this summer.

The outdoor concert, which will take place on the evening of July 6th, will see selected music from a wide range of games being performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic orchestra and a full choir.

The event - the first of its kind - also promises laser and light sequences, video clips, live characters, and a segment dedicated to retro arcade games, and is currently scheduled to include music from no fewer than eleven games.

Fans of game music in California have a good few months lined up, in fact - May will also see the return to Los Angeles of Nobuo Uematsu's concert series featuring music from the Final Fantasy series, with the LA date due to feature the first live performance ever outside Japan for his rock group, The Black Mages.
