The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has unveiled Vic Reeves as the host for this year's Video Games Awards, taking place on October 23 as part of the London Games Festival.
Academy chairman, Hilary Bevan Jones, said of the comedian: "We are thrilled to have Vic fronting these Awards. His sheer exuberance, off-beat humour and love of videogames make him the perfect choice."
Reeves, well known for pairing with Bob Mortimer in comedy shows The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer, and Shooting Stars, "loves playing videogames with his wife Nancy," according to the statement.
Rock band Athlete will also be performing at the ceremony, along with a second, as-yet-unnamed act.
