Venture capitalist Hoag joins EA board

Jay Hoag is founding general partner at Technology Crossover Ventures

Jay Hoag, venture capitalist and general partner with Technology Crossover Ventures, has joined EA's board of directors.

Hoag will also join EA's Executive Compensation and Leadership Committee.

"I have followed EA closely and have been highly impressed with the management team, as well as the company's deep focus on product quality and making the transformation to the digital distribution of games and services," said Hoag.

"I look forward to working with EA on expanding its global leadership in this market."

Haog already sits on the boards of eHarmony, TechTarget, Zillow and Netflix. Technology Crossover Venture has $7.7 billion in capital under management, and focusses on technology companies.

"Jay Hoag is an extraordinarily valuable addition to EA's Board of Directors," said John Riccitiello, EA CEO.

"His early investments in Expedia, Netflix and other technology leaders demonstrate his unique insight into mass market consumer technologies. We look forward to his leadership and vision on our board of directors."

EA recently made a number of promotions among executive employees, making EA Sports president Peter Moore chief operating officer, and promoting Frank Gibeau to president of all EA Labels.
