Valve introduces Steam cash payments at Russian kiosks
More than 450,000 Xsolla kiosks will open up platform to Russian market
Valve is introducing Steam payments to 450,000 cash kiosks across Russia.
The deal, with payment network operator Xsolla, will provide easier access to Valve's digital distribution platform to millions of Russian players.
"We are thrilled to make Steam more accessible to the Russian market, and we believe Xsolla is an ideal partner to help make this happen," said Steam's director of business development Jason Holtman in a statement.
"Xsolla's partnership with Valve will enable millions of gamers in the Russian Federation to enjoy Steam," added Xsolla's vice president Albert Donahue. "Steam revolutionized the way games are distributed and experienced."
Valve added support for the Russian rouble to Steam last month, joining USD, GBP and EUR.
