Urban Rivals the world’s busiest online trading card game has announced the two winners of their “Search for an Art Star” contest. 30th July 2008, Boostr the development company behind Urban Rivals is delighted to offer freelance character design contracts to the winners of the USA and UK Art Star contests. CEO Sebastian Flory commented “The standard of the work submitted was excellent and we were surprised and impressed at the number of entrants and the high quality of all their work.”
The contestants were asked to submit a character design with at least one character evolution and also to describe their character and assign an Urban Rivals clan for the character to join.
Miguel Rojas won the USA contest with his character design “Chrome Dome” a muscular half man half metal suit character for the All Star clan. Simon Pike won the UK contest with his design “Suzi” for the La Junta clan, a cocky, brash and well armed young lady.

The Art Star contest was extended for an extra month to allow artists attending the Bristol Comic Expo a fair amount of time to submit their designs. Boostr’s Marketing Director Nicolas Caris added, “It was a good decision to extend the contest as the UK winner Simon Pike found out about the contest at the Comic Expo and we’re very happy to have him on the team.”
