The University also runs two-day workshops on developing and integrating interactive narrative into computer games and holds an annual Games Industry Week, where visiting games companies run workshops and talks for games students.
Bobbie Fletcher, Head of the Games Technology Group explains the institute’s reasons for joining TIGA:
“At Staffordshire University we have one of the widest ranges of games degree courses in the country. By offering an extensive selection we allow our students the chance gain deep specialist knowledge in a specific area of games development. We have found that this way we equip our students with the skills they require to leave University and go straight into the industry.”
“By joining TIGA we are able to become even more integrated into the UK games community. This benefits us, our students and the wider industry.”
Dr. Richard Wilson, TIGA CEO welcomed the university to TIGA: “TIGA is proud to now represent over 25 universities and educational institutes. We hope that by bringing industry and academia together we can work to ensure the UK games industry has access to the brightest and the best games graduates.”
