Unity acquires deltaDNA
Engine maker says live ops analytics firm will continue to operate independently as engagement tools are integrated into Unity Engine
Unity Technologies continues to add to its engine through acquisition. The company today announced that it has acquired live ops analytics firm deltaDNA, and will be integrating its engagement tools directly into the Unity Engine itself.
Despite that integration, deltaDNA will continue operating as a separate entity providing its services to developers worldwide. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Today's acquisition of deltaDNA builds on Unity's commitment to enabling developer success at all stages of the game life cycle, from creation onwards," said Unity monetization GM Ingrid Lestiyo. "DeltaDNA helps developers deeply understand their players, optimize their games and increase revenue. We're excited to welcome deltaDNA into the Unity family, and to extend the reach of their real-time engagement capabilities to creators around the world."
This is the fourth acquisition Unity has made in the past year. It has previously purchased cross-platform chat company Vivox, real-time 3D filmmaking outfit Digital Monarch Media, and virtual texturing platform Graphene.
