A new consultancy offering a unique service to games industry businesses and aiming to create an impressive network of developers, publishers and consumer brands, has opened its doors in the UK.

Called Hive, the company is founded by industry veterans Ed Bartlett and Si Donbavand, along with brand communications expert Rachel Norman, and plans to offer a range of services designed to help partners make the most out of commercial opportunities.

The company focuses on interactive entertainment and convergence, and has forged close relationships with leading companies across the media spectrum in the hope of creating a network of like-minded companies who can benefit from the business opportunities offered by such a collective.

The team plans to offer comprehensive services to the games industry, working with partners including Clinic, Barrington Harvey PR and Briffa legal, and will also be helping consumer brands to realise the potential of marketing and product placement in videogames.

"We have spent many years discussing such a venture," according to CEO Ed Bartlett, "and felt now was the time to act. If the games industry is to continue to grow not only in size and revenues, but also creatively and culturally, then we need to work more closely together towards compelling mass-market penetration."

Further information on the company can be found at their website, hivepartners.com.
