UK’s top gamers descend on the World Cyber Games National Final
London - 28th October 2005 - Jolt Online Gaming, Europe's largest independent online gaming network, is delighted to confirm that following the successful conclusion of qualifiers up and down the United Kingdom, the UK leg of the World Cyber Games (www.wcg.jolt.co.uk) will reach its culmination at the National Finals on Saturday 29th.
Fifty of the country's top gamers will converge in London at the spacious Namco Station venue (www.namcostation.co.uk) to determine which top four teams and players will make it through to the Grand Final in Singapore in just a few weeks time.
Sponsored by Samsung and THQ, and with games ranging from Counter-Strike Source on the PC to Dead or Alive ultimate on the Xbox, the event is sure to see its share of sweaty palms, frayed tempers and unexpected outcomes.
Spectatorship is free, and doors open at 12 noon with events scheduled throughout the evening until 10pm. For a more detailed timetable, please visit: http://www.wcg.jolt.co.uk/index.php?keyword=national.
In an exciting twist, one spectator will join the UK's elite in their all-expenses-paid trip to Singapore, where thousands of pounds worth of prizes will be up for the taking - and all for a couple of minutes of effort. The catch? Throughout the day two machines will be set aside for the Samsung Need for Speed Challenge, where spectators can take turns to post the fastest lap-time in Need For Speed: Underground 2. You can take as many turns as you can fit into the day, so get in early!
